Shikar is a 2005 Indian drama film starring Ajay Devgn, Shahid Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Amrita Rao in lead roles.
The film revolves around an over ambitious businessman played by Devgan, who tricks a naive boy played by Kapoor in order to sell his land to him to build his tower projects. The plot is heavily inspired by the bestseller The Fountainhead.

The plot centres on a disillusioned everyman whose frustration at what he sees as increasing social apathy and public negligence leads to a split personality that attempts to right the system.
Vikram stars as Ramanujam, an idealistic, law-abiding lawyer who has multiple personality disorder and develops two other identities: a metrosexual fashion model Remo and a vigilante serial killer named Anniyan. Sadha plays his love interest, Nandini. Actors Vivek, Prakash Raj, Nedumudi Venu and Nassar also feature in the film.

Anupama Chopra from India today on reviewing the film stated that "Bihar is India's heart of darkness and Prakash Jha, its most eloquent celluloid poet."
Raja Sen from Rediff.com writes that "The truly brilliant part of the film is the dialogue. With a crisp and clever use of metaphor and idioms, the lines pack a terrific, applause-worthy punch, especially in the hands of a very talented cast.A flawed good film."
Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama gave 1.5 star from 5 star and stated that "The performances in APAHARAN film are, by and large, of superior quality. It's a delight to watch Nana Patekar in complete form after a long time. Ajay Devgan is equally competent. Bipasha Basu is passable. The film has a number of characters, but those who stand out are Mohan Agashe (first-rate), Yashpal Sharma (effective), Mukesh Tiwari [perfect] and Murli Sharma (excellent). The actor enacting the role of the Home Minister is very good. Overall APAHARAN film is an honest attempt that looks at the spate of kidnappings in Bihar, but the dry, grim and dark subject would appeal to a tiny segment of viewers. At the box-office, it has some scope in U.P. and Bihar [thanks to the identification], but will otherwise face rough weather.
