Ajay Saxena(Sunny Deol) and Abdul(Sudesh Berry) are working together in Indian Secret Service Agents, They are not only co-workers, but also live like brothers and family. The film also has an extended appearance by Shahrukh Khan to enhance its market value, but he is not given much to do with his role. Army is a Sridevi vehicle and she is excellent. First, she looks beautiful and does well in all the phases of her character, whether it's the happy wife, the traumatised widow, or the decisive avenger. The role is not as good as the role she had in Gumrah, but it's good enough and she anyway manages to rise above the film's silliness. Danny Denzongpa plays the exact caricature villain he played in many other films. The music is forgettable. I see no reason to recommend this unless you are a Sridevi fan."

Major controversy carried out after the film released. Sunil Shetty was cheated by producer Suresh Grover. Suresh had sold a still (picture) from the film of Sunil Shetty with a whiskey bottle to a whiskey company. Sunil was angry about this because he never agreed to endorse any alcohol brand.
Producer Suresh Grover was angry with Anu Malik for composing another version of Macarena for Sohail Khan's Auzaar. Anu kept this bit of information from him. This caused him to replace Malik with Nadeem Shravan for the shelved film Juaa.
Inspector Varun Saxena (Vinod Khanna) successfully capture Pilot Baba's (Amrish Puri) son for running over and killing Deodhar (Arun Govil), a fellow police inspector. But Pilot's cleverly advocate, Indrajit Diwan (Danny Denzongpa), proves him innocent, and he is set free.
When Varun confides of his frustrations with his garage-mechanic friend, Suraj (Sunil Shetty), he decides to study law and assist Varun. Later Varun arrests Suraj for attempting to rape Mrs. Deodhar (Kunika) and is put in prison.
Subsequently, Mrs. Deodhar is killed and the evidence points to Varun who is also arrested, charged and imprisoned in the same prison as Suraj, who cannot wait to avenge his humiliation.
As time progresses Varun himself gets involve for murdering a huge number of school children, is discharged and sent to prison where he clashes with Suraj and must work a way out that will bring justice for themselves.

Sohail Khan initially wanted Aamir Khan for Sanjay Kapoor's role, but he declined it for unknown reasons. Then Sohail Khan approached Sanjay Dutt for the role, but he was busy with Daud at that time. Sunny Deol was too approached for the role along with Sanjay Dutt. Kajol was offered the female lead, but declined. Shilpa Shetty finally selected for the role.
