A young barrister Name is Vallabhbhai Patel playing cards with his friends and laugh at Mahatma Gandhi and his policies to achieve independence. His views change permanently, when he is introduced to Gandhi by his brother, and after listening to a lecture delivered by Gandhi, he joins him in his struggle. Vallabhbhai Patel then successfully organises various Satyagrahas throughout Gujarat and During that time Gandhiji gave new Name Sardar (The Leader). During that time he go to jail and also with ganddhiji He serve the Gandhiji. Gradually He emerge as a National leader During the age of the Quit India Movement and India's freedom.
Sardar Vallabhbhai patel is instrumental in convincing the working committee of the INC and Nehru to accept a proposal for the partition of India, when riots break thoughout India on the Muslim league's call for Direct Action. Sardar knows that not tackling the problem now might result in civil war in the country. Once the partition has been accepted, Sardar patel Handling Home Minister- then works to get all the princely states to join the Union of India, How easily he joins all princely states except his the princely states of Kashmir, Junnagad and Hyderabad. Then He aggressively works help India to Join gradually Junnagad and Hyderabad. When He also solving the problems of Kashmir Nehru intervens.

This film marks the second part of a franchise that started with the romantic comedy film Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014), which was also directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Karan Johar for Dharma Productions and starred Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles.
The film was first announced on 3 May 2016 with the release of an online motion poster featuring Dhawan and Bhatt at a local village fair. Film shooting started on the same day. Some of the scenes were also shot at the Ghatotkach Circle, Kishore Sagar Lake and Seven Wonders Park in Kota, Rajasthan.

The film music composer are Amaal Mallik, Tanishk Bagchi and Akhil Sachdeva while the lyricist are Kumaar, Shabbir Ahmed, Akhil Sachdeva, Badshah and Indeevar. The music album was released on 14 February 2017 under banner of T-Series.
The song "Humsafar" was originally composed by Akhil Sachdeva. "Tamma Tamma Again" is a recreation of the song "Tamma Tamma" produced by Bappi Lahiri for the 1990 film Thanedaar. In turn, "Tamma Tamma" itself was based on two songs from Mory Kanté's 1987 album Akwaba Beach: "Tama" and "Yé ké yé ké".
The title song "Badri Ki Dulhania" appears to be inspired by the song "Chalat Musafir" from the film Teesri Kasam (1966), which in turn was inspired by a Bihari folk song. Arijit Singh won the Best Playback Singer (Male) in the Filmfare Awards 2018 for his rendition of the song "Roke Na Ruke Nainaa".

Anupama Chopra of Film Companion gave the film 3 star from 5 and stated that, "Think of Badrinath ki Dulhania as a dose of feminism-lite. I was smiling through the film. ...Varun excels as Badri. He has an earnestness that connects instantly. He captures each nuance of Badri – his longing for Vaidehi, his confusion and hurt and the eventual transformation of his rage into understanding and respect."
Nihit Bhave from Times of India gave 3.5 star out of 5 star and writes that "Badrinath Ki Dulhania is a rucksack full of radioactive social issues handled cautiously". He also appreciate Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhat's chemistry saying, " Together, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt are the best thing that could have happened to our screens".
Rohit Vats from Hindustan Times gave film 2.5 star from 5 star and stated that Varun Dhawan by portraying a Jhansi boy, reminds of Govinda.
