These are just a few of the memorable songs from the film "Taal." The soundtrack of the movie garnered immense popularity and continues to be cherished by music lovers even years after its release.

Review of the film:

Taal" received a mixed response from critics and audiences upon its release. While it had its share of admirers who appreciated its music and visual grandeur, others felt that the film was overly melodramatic and lacked a strong storyline. Here is a brief review of the film:

One of the standout aspects of "Taal" is its music composed by A.R. Rahman. The songs became hugely popular and continue to be loved by fans even today. The film's soundtrack is a delightful mix of soulful melodies and energetic tracks, showcasing Rahman's mastery in blending Indian and Western musical elements.

The film's visual appeal is another aspect that garnered praise. Subhash Ghai, the director, beautifully captures the picturesque locations and choreographs the song sequences with grandeur and precision. The stunning cinematography adds to the film's aesthetic appeal.

The performances in "Taal" were a mixed bag. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan shines as Mansi, displaying her grace and beauty. Akshaye Khanna delivers a sincere performance as Mansoor, portraying his passion for music convincingly. Anil Kapoor and Amrish Puri also do justice to their respective roles.

However, where the film falls short is in its storytelling and screenplay. The narrative tends to be predictable, and the plot relies heavily on melodrama and clichés. Some critics felt that the film was too long, and certain portions could have been trimmed to maintain a tighter pace.

Additionally, the characterization in "Taal" was considered weak by some, with limited depth given to certain supporting characters. The film also struggled to strike a balance between the romantic storyline and the exploration of deeper themes.

Overall, "Taal" is a visually appealing film with a memorable soundtrack. While it may not have been universally acclaimed for its storytelling, it managed to create a lasting impact through its music and performances. It remains a popular choice for fans of Bollywood musicals and those who appreciate the spectacle of a Subhash Ghai film.

Box office collection:

The box office collection of "Taal" was quite successful during its theatrical run. While I don't have access to the specific box office figures, the film was considered a commercial success.

"Taal" released in 1999, and it had a strong opening at the box office. The film generated significant buzz due to its star cast, music, and the reputation of director Subhash Ghai. The combination of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's popularity, Akshaye Khanna's rising star status, and Anil Kapoor's established presence contributed to the film's initial success.

Moreover, the music of "Taal" played a crucial role in its box office performance. The songs became chartbusters and were widely appreciated by the audience, which further boosted the film's popularity and footfall in theaters.

Although the exact box office figures are not available, "Taal" had a successful run and managed to hold its own against other releases at the time. The film's strong word-of-mouth and positive reception helped sustain its performance in the theaters.

Overall, "Taal" can be considered a box office success, thanks to its appealing music, star power, and captivating visuals. It contributed to the popularity of its cast and remains a memorable film in Hindi cinema.

Samar film 1999 story :

The film story is base on a realty of Village life in India , How cast system gives suppress the people in the name of cast. where a lower cast farmer had committed the "crime" of entering the village temple for a thanksgiving, for which he was publicly humiliated by the village priest. When a film actor is to enact the scene of humiliation, he revolts, thus sparking off another cycle of violence in the village.

It also shows an unflattering image of modern filmmakers, especially those who visit far-flung rural areas, in search of "sensitive" stories, while themselves remaining insensitive to the rural dynamics, and in turn adding their own preconceived notions and bias to the entire film making process.

Film story starts in a small village - Madhya Pradesh, where two different communities fight over a water pump installation. When a member of one of the communities, Nathu (Kishore Kadam) decides to protest against a decision he feels is unjustice, he angers the local land owner, who decides to impose economic sanctions on the community in an effort to starve them out of the village.

When Nathu's house is burned down under mysterious circumstances, Nathu seeks the comfort of a temple, and prays for a solution. Instead, he finds himself abused and beaten by the land owner for breaking a rule that bans members of Nathu's community from entering the temple. It later emerges that the situation in the area is being used as a plot for a film made in Bombay, however characters featured in the film are misrepresented, which leads to tension on the set and eventually violence erupts.
