Story of the film
Purushottam Agarwal (played by Paresh Rawal) leaves India seeking a better life and future in London. He desires that Nikki, his granddaughter, marry an Indian man and honor Indian culture. Since Nikki (Namrata Shirodkar) is in love with Rohit (Parmeet Sethi), she initially resists. However, due to the heavy pressure from her grandfather, she intends to relocate to India. She meets tourist guide Rommie (Arshad Warsi) in India. Here, she devises a scheme to deceive her grandfather by pretending to be married to Rommie.
She intends to get Rommie to act negatively in front of Purushottam in order to influence him to modify his opinion of Indian grooms. In Purushottam's presence, she portrays Rommie as a prosperous man. At first, Nikki and Rommie are hostile toward one another. Rommie tries his hardest to act negatively as per the plan, but it doesn't seem like fate is on his side. He gets closer to Purushottam's heart with each try.
